This recipe is a long-standing Christmas tradition and it wouldn’t even be Christmas without it. We’ve been making it since I was a kid and now about 2 days before Christmas I bake vanilla rolls for the whole family and make so many that we enjoy them all holiday long.

1.

Let the butter soften. I always use butter, the rolls melt completely. With all the ingredients, make a dough and wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least an hour. You can also leave it in the fridge until the next day. Shape the dough into rolls. Make long rolls and then fold into the desired shape. You can also make lucky horseshoes or hearts.

2.

Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the pieces next to each other, but not too close, as the rolls will grow even larger as they bake. Bake at 150°C for about 20 minutes.

3.

After baking, let the rolls cool down a bit, because they are very fragile, but while still warm, roll them in a mixture of powdered sugar and vanillin sugar. Store in a container.
