A recipe full of flavors, reminiscent of juicy game. Herbs, dark beer and refreshing lemon are a great combination for turkey. Try it!
1.
Blanch the turkey leg if necessary, debone, skin, sprinkle with black pepper and salt and let it rest for a while.
2.
Make a marinade of olive oil, dark beer, lemon and herbs. Put the salted and seasoned meat in the marinade, add the chopped onion and garlic.
3.
Cover with cling film and leave in the fridge for at least an hour or two. The meat will absorb the flavours and the result will be original and juicy.
4.
Remove the meat from the brine and sear briefly in a pan to coat.
5.
Transfer to a roasting tray cover with the marinade in which it has been soaked, cover with foil and bake for approximately 90 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Keep basting with water or beer, when the liquid is low, season if necessary. Bake uncovered for a further 10-15 minutes.
6.
Serve with any side dish. Practically everything from bread, to potatoes in various ways, to rice and pasta will go well with this tasty, game-like meat.
7.
We enjoyed it this time with separately roasted potatoes and fresh Vegetable Recipes. It also tastes great with dark bean protein pasta. We’ll have those with the rest of the meat tomorrow 🙂 Enjoy!
