Traditional apple strudel

250 g plain flour 80 g butter 1 dl milk 1 pk egg yolk 1 pinch salt powdered sugar

A fragrant traditional classic that always scents the whole house. Apple strudel.

Sieve the flour onto a board, add the egg yolk, butter, room temperature milk and a pinch of salt. Make a dough with the ingredients. It is ideal to let the dough rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour.

Clean and grate the apples. Depending on the acidity of the apples, add granulated sugar and season with cinnamon sugar.

Divide the prepared dough into two parts (or into 3 and you will get 3 smaller strudels). Roll out each part on a floured kitchen towel. Divide the apple filling and spread it evenly over the rolled out dough.Use the cloth to carefully roll the dough.

Place the prepared strudels on a greased baking sheet and brush the surface of the dough with butter. Bake at 180 degrees until golden.

Sprinkle the baked cakes with icing sugar. They taste wonderful.
