Tortilla Dough

Tortilla (TORTILLAS), a flour tortilla from Mexico. It is used as a side dish or part of Mexican tacos.

Ingredients:

450 g of plain flour

. 85 g of lard or vegetable fat 200 ml warm water 1 tbsp salt

Procedure:

1. Mix the flour with the salt and add the softened lard
2. Process the dough carefully, slowly adding warm water
3. Leave the soft and elastic dough to rest wrapped in a wet cloth
4. Roll out the dough pieces (3 tablespoons) into a round pancake, dust it with flour (so that the individual pancakes do not stick) and cover with a cloth, repeat the process until all the dough is processed
5. On a non-stick frying pan, bake the individual pancakes on both sides until golden brown (15 seconds on each side).
