Tomato soup with ginger

ingredients

1 can peeled tomatoes 70 g tomato puree 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp olive oil 2 tbsp plain flour 1 pk small onion 2 pk bay leaf whole black peppercorns salt 6 leaves fresh basil fresh ginger

procedure

1. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the oil and plain flour. Stir for a while and pour in cold water. 2. Stir the puree and whole peeled tomatoes into the water. Add the peeled onion, bay leaves, salt and a few black peppercorns. Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. 3. Finally, throw in the basil leaves and grate in a small piece of ginger, about 1 tsp. Stir, simmer for two more minutes, season with salt and ground black pepper as needed.
