Tomato jam recipe
Last Updated on
Tomato jam is a delicious and versatile condiment. You can use it on sandwiches, in dips, or even just eat it straight out of the jar!
This recipe is for a basic tomato jam. You can add other spices and flavors to suit your taste. I like to add a bit of cumin and smoked paprika for a smoky flavor, or you could add some chopped fresh herbs like basil or oregano.
Ingredients:
-2 lbs. tomatoes, cored and chopped
-1/2 cup sugar
-1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
-1 tsp. salt
-1/4 tsp. each cumin and smoked paprika (optional)
Instructions:
1. Add the tomatoes, sugar, vinegar, salt, and spices to a large pot.
2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
3. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the tomatoes are very soft and the jam has thickened.
4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. 5. Use an immersion blender or food processor to puree the jam until it’s smooth.
6. Pour into jars and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
This jam is great on sandwiches, toast, or even just straight off a spoon! Try it on my Grilled Cheese with Tomato Jam Sandwich or my Crostini with Goat Cheese and Tomato Jam
