Tomato bisque soup recipe

Bisque is a French term for a smooth, creamy soup typically made from lobster, shrimp or crayfish. This rich and flavorful soup is perfect for a winter night. Our tomato bisque soup recipe is a tomato-based soup that is also smooth and creamy. It is perfect for a quick and easy lunch or dinner. This soup can be made with fresh or canned tomatoes. If you are using fresh tomatoes, you will need about 6-8 tomatoes. If you are using canned tomatoes, you will need two 14.5 ounce cans of diced tomatoes.

To make the soup, start by peeling and chopping the tomatoes. If you are using fresh tomatoes, you will also need to remove the seeds. Place the chopped tomatoes in a large pot with the canned diced tomatoes. Add water, chicken broth, garlic, onion, sugar, salt, pepper, thyme and basil. Stir well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

Once the soup has finished cooking, use an immersion blender to blend the soup until it is smooth. You can also use a regular blender, but be careful when blending hot liquids. Blend in small batches and hold the lid on tight. If you would like a thinner soup, add more water. If you would like a thicker soup, add more diced tomatoes. Serve immediately with bread or croutons.

This soup can also be made ahead of time and reheated when you are ready to eat. leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for up to six months
