200 g peas 1.25 litres water 1 tbsp oil 1 pk onion 1 tbsp plain flour 1/2 tbsp ground cumin 1 pinch marjoram to taste salt 2 cloves garlic a little parsley to taste bread croutons

Pre-soak the peas with water and boil them until tender. Let the soft peas cool for a while and then mash or puree them with the broth.

Fry the finely chopped onion in oil, sprinkle with flour and fry. Dilute with a little water and stir. Add the pea puree, cumin, marjoram, salt and simmer. Dilute the soup with water or broth to desired thickness, if necessary.

Flavour the pea soup with pressed garlic and chopped parsley. Serve with toasted croutons.
