The best lángos made with dough from the fridge
ingredients
1 kg plain flour 7,5 dl water 42 g fresh yeast 3 tbsp yoghurt 1 tbsp salt
progress in the video above
Amazing lángos, the best I’ve ever eaten 🙂 I haven’t made any others in my house since I’ve known them. They taste delicious, quite different from the classic sourdough ones. The dough is light, fluffy and slightly crispy on the outside. They are also easy to prepare, as you make the dough in one day and then bake them the next day. It’s convenient and practical 🙂
1.
In a bowl, mix the flour and salt, add the yoghurt and the yeast dissolved in 2dl of water. Add the other approx 5-5,5dl of water progressively while working out the dough according to how the flour drinks. You should get a semi-soft, still sticky dough, which you knead into a loaf with the flour. Put the dough with the bowl in a plastic bag, seal and put it (preferably for 1 night) in the fridge to rise.
2.
The next day, take the dough out of the fridge and with oiled hands, tear off pieces the size of 1 lángos from the dough and place on a tray. Let the dough rest like this for about 40 minutes to let it warm up and stretch nicely 🙂
3.
After the time has elapsed, heat the oil in a frying pan. With oiled hands, stretch the dough/cake thinly and knead on both sides. (For a better idea of the progress, watch the video)
4.
Langos are delicious, they taste much different than the classic plain dough. Depending on the taste, everyone can have garlic, cheese, cream or ketchup 🙂 Have a good taste!
