We tried out the new Crock-Pot with express cooker function. For this we have prepared some delicious express pork ribs that are done in just 30 minutes and are tender and mellow.
Ingredients
Pork ribs, 1.5 kg Soy sauce, 6 tablespoons Ketchup, 3 tablespoons Honey, 2 tablespoons Garlic cloves, 2
Step 1
With the Crock-Pot lid open select “BROWN/SAUTÉ” mode and dial 15 minutes. The word “HEAT” will appear, which means it is heating up.
Step 2
Add 2 tablespoons of virgin olive oil and brown the ribs on both sides until they are brown. We will probably have to cut them into smaller pieces to fit.
Step 3
Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl until we get a homogeneous sauce.
Step 4
When the ribs are browned, remove them, lightly clean the pot and add them back in with the sauce. Mix everything together.
Step 5
Place the lid and close it to align the arrow with the closed padlock drawing. We put the spout in “SEAL” mode (steam drawing crossed out), select “MEAT/STEW” mode and dial 15 minutes. It will set “HEAT” while the pot heats up and will automatically start cooking, we don’t have to do anything.
Step 6
After the 15 minutes of cooking the ribs will be ready. The Crock-Pot goes into KEEP WARM mode, which lasts up to 4 hours. If we want them immediately we have to wait 10 minutes for the steam to come out and then, with an oven glove, an instrument and a lot of care, we change the spout of the pot to open and let all the steam come out. Only when it has come out completely can we open the pot, and very carefully.
Step 7
Remove the ribs and select the “BROWN/SAUTÉ” mode to reduce the sauce for 15 minutes until it is thicker.
Step 8
Serve the ribs with the reduced sauce on top.
Crock-Pot Multicooker Express
Traditionally the Crock-Pot had always been used to cook at low temperature, a technique that we love in Cocinillas and for which you can find many recipes.
The only problem with low temperature cooking is the time it requires, generally between 6 and 8 hours, which is not always available. For this reason Crock-Pot brings to the market this Multicooker Express which, in addition to many other cooking modes has an express cooker mode and allows us to make recipes like these express pork ribs. The difference between slow cooker and express with the Crock-Pot goes from 8 hours to 30 minutes for the same recipe.
Is it worth buying it? If we already have at home a Crock-Pot and an express pot the only thing it brings is that we will have everything in the same appliance, which is no small thing since space is important. However if we do not have any is an ideal purchase, because it will be a lot of kitchen gadgets in one, because we can brown food, cook at low temperature or in express mode, occupying only what occupies this model of Crock-Pot.
