Strawberry and blueberry dumplings made from batter

Fruit dumplings made from battered dough are one of the traditional seasonal dishes when we have gardens full of strawberries and blueberries are also abundant in the woods. Of course, they can also be made with preserved strawberries and blueberries!

Ingredients:

500 g of coarse flour

. 30 g butter 500 ml of semi-skimmed milk 2 pcs egg yolks strawberries and blueberries salts flour to sprinkle on the work surface mildly salted water to cook dumplings For sprinkling and seasoning: powdered sugar breadcrumbs butter

Procedure:

  • Melt the butter in the hot milk, add a pinch of salt and quickly stir in the flour, stir until it stops sticking to the sides of the pot, then set aside, let cool, stir in the beaten egg yolks into the lukewarm batter
  • Place the cooled dough on a floured work surface, use your hands to make a soft dough, divide it into two halves, roll out each half into a cylinder, then cut into 16 equal sized pieces
  • From the individual pieces of dough form a pancake, wrap one or two strawberries or a few blueberries, wrap, form a dumpling
  • Spread the hot dumplings on plates with breadcrumbs fried in butter, sprinkle with icing sugar and drizzle with melted butter.
