A simple dish from Šumava is prepared according to this old Czech recipe using only potatoes and semolina. Semolina was sometimes replaced by coarse flour. Just before serving, the sturgeon was spread with butter or topped with fried onions sautéed in rendered bacon.

Procedure:
1. Peel the potatoes, cut them into pieces and cook them until soft (it is best to cook them the day before!)
2. Dry fry the semolina in a Teflon pan, tip the cooked, mashed potatoes (without water) into the cooked semolina and mash the potatoes with a fork to combine with the semolina, they must not stick to the pan, keep stirring, small lumps will form, coated with semolina
3. Transfer the dish to plates, top with bacon melted in lard, add fried onions.
