Spanakopita

Greek savoury patties suitable as an appetizer or a delicacy with wine.

Ingredients:

500 g of puff pastry 300 g fresh spinach 150 g of pickled sun-dried tomatoes 100 g feta or ricotta cheese 2-3 pcs garlic cloves 2 pcs of egg olive oil salt sesame seeds for garnish flour for rolling

Procedure:

1. Saute sliced garlic in hot oil
2. After about 2 minutes add the washed and drained spinach leaves, let it wilt
3. Stir, add salt and wait until it cools down
4. Put the prepared spinach, drained and roughly chopped tomatoes, cheese, one egg into a bowl and mix everything together, add salt to the mixture if necessary
6. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured roll, cut it into 11×11 cm squares with a ruler
7. Put a larger spoonful of the spinach mixture in the middle of each pastry square, fold it into a triangle and press the two resulting edges with a fork
8. Brush the spaghetti squares with beaten (second) egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds
9. Bake for about 20 minutes at a temperature of about 180 °C.
