Slow Cooker Beef Stew with Sweet Potatoes Recipe

This beef stew with sweet potatoes is flavored with everyday seasonings and a subtle hint of cinnamon. It’s a great stew for dead foods.

You can use the labeled beef in the recipe, or use fruit juice, round or strong. Peel the beef into silver-sized cubes or about 1/2 to 1-inch.

Great sweet potatoes and frozen peas or green beans are the Vegetable Recipes in this soft drink, but feel free to use mixed Vegetable Recipes or corn in the stew.

What you need

. 1 1/2 lb fatty beef 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt (kosher) 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1 large onion (or 2 medium, halved and cut into 1/4 inch slices) 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 2 medium sweet potatoes (or 1, if very large) 1/2 cup beef (home-cooked, canned, or fruit juice) 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 to 1 cup peas (frozen or green beans, thawed) salt to taste black pepper to taste Optional: 1 tablespoon flour (mix with 2 tablespoons water) Garnish: fresh chopped parsley or cilantro

How to make it

Cut the braised beef into shreds. Toss the stewed beef with the flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper together in a bowl or paper bag or food storage bag. Heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the cubes of coated beef and sliced onion to the pan and stir until the beef is well browned. Peel sweet potatoes and cut into 1- to 1 1/2-inch cubes. You should have about 2 1/2 to 3 cup cubes. Place sweet potato cubes in Crock Pot'add beef and onions. Stir in beef powder with cinnamon and pour over beef mixture. Cover and cook 7 to 9 hours or until beef is tender. Taste and adjust seasonings with salt and pepper as needed. Add peas or green beans during the last 15 to 20 minutes. If you want to pan-sear the stew, combine the flour and water and blend into a smooth paste. Add to the stew and turn HIGH. Cook about 10 minutes longer or until thickened. Serve this beef stew with biscuits or fatty bread .

Tips and Variations

Add the stew mixture with 2 chopped carrots along with cubed sweet potatoes. Add 2 rice celery, sliced. Replace peas or green beans with frozen mixed Vegetable Recipes or frozen corn grits.
