Simple dinner inspired by the classic sweet potato (bun), but this time we will prepare it for carnivores, i.e. salted and with slices of smoked meat.
Ingredients:
Rule for approx 4 servings:
10-12 pieces
of toasted bread or a few day or two old rolls
4-5 pcs
of egg
200 g
of smoked meat
150 g
of gouda, emmental or other strong cheese
butter
pepper
salt
Procedure:
Grease a baking dish liberally with butter.
Cover the bottom with toasted bread, overlapping the bread slightly; if using rolls, slice them and place them in the bottom of the baking dish as well.
Place the thinly sliced smoked bread on top of the bread layer, place the cheese slices on top of the smoked bread, and cover the whole layer with another layer of toasted bread or rolls.
In a larger bowl, whisk the eggs, season with salt and pepper, pour the eggs evenly over everything in the baking dish.
In an oven preheated to 200 °C, bake until golden brown, the eggs must set, about 20-30 minutes should be enough.
