Salmon Box

A classic salmon box is made from fresh salmon. Try making this with my cold smoked salmon, which adds an excellent smoky note to the dish.2-3 tsp salt 1 tsp white pepper Peel the potatoes and slice thinly. Wash and slice the light part of the leek into a ringlet. Peel and split the garlic clove. Dice the salmon. Take a shallow, preferably glass baking dish and rub the garlic into the bottom of the dish and rub in the garlic. Then ladle the salmon ingredients into the pan in a single layer: – half of the potatoes in the dish (white pepper) – half of the leeks – diced salmon (salt generously) with a dash of dill – remaining leeks – remaining potatoes Press the salmon dish into a tight ball. Spoon the cream over the pan and milk so that 2/3 of the base is covered with the cream. Bake the salmon in a 200C oven first under foil for 45 min. Remove the foil and bake for another 20-30 min.
