Sailor steaks
Seafood is one of those dishes that simmers in the oven while you sit in the sauna. The stew, simmered in oil, is great served with whole beetroots. And, of course, beer.
Ingredients for six
500g roast beef 8 potatoes 3 onions 3-5 dl beer (not bitter) 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp cooking oil 2 tsp salt 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp allspice parsley for garnish
Smoke the beef into thin shavings. In a frying pan, fry the meat with a little water. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
Peel the potatoes and slice thinly. Do the same for the onions, Pile the food in the oven pan; layer onions, beef and potatoes. Make several layers.
Thick the butter to thicken so that the sausages don’t dry out in the oven. Rinse the pan with a bottle of beer and pour the liquid into the pot.
Cover the pan and roast the steaks in a 200C oven for just over an hour.
Remove the lid and cook a crispy crust under the grill for a few minutes. Leave to cool for a while, garnish with parsley and serve with pickled beetroot.
