Rösti II.

Rösti is the Swiss national dish. It is similar to our potato pancake. Rösti has many similarities, some are made from raw potatoes, others from boiled potatoes, but the base is always coarsely grated potatoes either alone or with ingredients such as bacon, onions, sausage, cheese, etc.

Ingredients:

500 g of potatoes 100 g bacon 2 tbsp starch flour 1 tablespoon chopped parsley 1 piece egg pepper salt

Procedure:

1. Peel the raw potatoes and roughly grate them into noodles, let them stand for a while
2. Squeeze out the excess water from the potatoes, add the egg, chopped bacon, parsley, starch meal, salt, pepper and mix thoroughly
3. Heat the oil in a pan, scoop the mixture, place it in the pan and use a spoon to squash it into a patty
4. Fry until golden brown on both sides
5. Serve warm either on its own or as a side dish with meat or vegetable dishes.
