Romanian cabbage rolls made with paprika no tomato sauce recipe
This is a traditional Romanian recipe for cabbage rolls made with paprika instead of tomato sauce. The ingredients you’ll need are: 1 head of cabbage, 1-2 cups of cooked white rice, 1/2 pound of ground beef, 1/4 cup of chopped onion, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, 1 tablespoon of paprika, and 1 cup of water.
To make the cabbage rolls, first cook the rice and ground beef. In a separate pot, simmer the chopped cabbage in water until it’s soft enough to roll. Once the rice is cooked, mix it with the ground beef, onion, salt, and pepper. Then, oil a baking dish and spread the cabbage leaves in it. Put a spoonful of the rice mixture into each leaf, and roll it up. Spread paprika over the top of the cabbage rolls, pour the cup of water into the dish, and bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about an hour.
You can serve these cabbage rolls with a dollop of sour cream on top. They make a great main dish or side dish, and are perfect for a winter meal
