Recipe for South African pineapple beer
There’s nothing quite like a refreshing beer on a hot day, and this recipe for South African pineapple beer is the perfect way to enjoy a cold one. Made with fresh pineapples and a variety of hops, this beer is light, fruity, and perfect for quenching your thirst.
To make this beer, you’ll need:
1 pound of fresh pineapples, peeled and diced
1 pound of light brown sugar
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
1 ounce of Cascade hops
1 ounce of Centennial hops
1 teaspoon of yeast nutrient
1 package of dry brewing yeast
Start by boiling the pineapple in a large pot with the sugar and ginger. After about 10 minutes, remove from heat and add the Cascade hops. Allow the mixture to cool, then add the Centennial hops and yeast nutrient. Stir in the yeast, then pour into bottles or a keg and allow to ferment for 2-3 weeks.
