Recipe for saltine toffee candy

Ingredients:

-1 sleeve of saltine crackers
-1 cup (2 sticks) butter
-1 cup brown sugar
-1 tsp. vanilla
-1½ cups chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, then set a layer of saltines on top.

2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, stir in the brown sugar and vanilla extract until combined.

3. Pour the mixture over the saltines, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.

4. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the toffee is golden brown and bubbly.

5. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. Let them sit for a minute to melt, then spread the chocolate evenly with a spatula.

6. Allow the toffee to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
