Recipe for making jam

Making jam is a classic summer activity that is both fun and delicious! There are many different recipes for jam, but the basics are always the same: fruit, sugar, and heat.

To make your own jam, you will need:

2-3 cups of fresh fruit (berries work well)
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of water
A small pot

Directions:

Wash and chop your fruit. If you are using berries, there is no need to remove the stems or seeds.
Add the fruit, sugar, and water to the pot.
Stir the mixture and turn on the heat. Bring the jam to a boil, then turn down the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
Use a spoon to test the jam. It should be thick and coats the back of the spoon. If it isn’t ready yet, let it cook for a few more minutes.
Once it is done, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool. The jam can be stored in a jar or container with a lid. It will keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Jam is a great way to use up fresh fruit, and it can be used in many different ways. Spread it on toast, add it to yogurt or oatmeal, or use it as a filling for pies or pastries
