Recipe for making achiote marinated chicken
Last Updated on
Achiote is a South American spice made from the seeds of the achiote tree. It has a slightly musky flavor and is often used as a natural food coloring. Achiote paste is usually used as a marinade for chicken or fish.
Ingredients:
1 tsp. achiote paste
1/4 cup olive oil
1 lime, juiced
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
sea salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl.
Place the chicken in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over top.
Seal the bag and place in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
When ready to cook, Preheat your grill, or heat a skillet on the stove over medium high heat.
Grill or cook the chicken for about 8 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Enjoy!
