There’s no need to go out for cheesecake when you can make your own delicious version at home! This recipe for homemade cheesecake with a Quaker oats crust is easy to follow and yields a rich and creamy dessert that’s sure to please. The key to a good cheesecake is using high-quality ingredients, so be sure to use fresh block cream cheese, not the spreadable kind in a tub. And don’t skimp on the eggs – they help to give the cheesecake its characteristic dense texture.
To begin, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9-inch springform pan with butter. Then, make the crust by mixing together 1 1/2 cups of Quaker oats, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 cup of melted butter. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the filling by beating together 16 ounces of cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, and 3 tablespoons of flour. Add 4 eggs, one at a time, and beat until the mixture is smooth. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Pour the filling into the cooled crust and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the cheesecake is firm. Allow the cheesecake to cool completely before serving. Serve plain or top with your favorite fruit sauce or compote
