Recipe for hamburger casserole and egg yolk noodles using beef gravy instead of tomato sauce

This is a great and easy recipe for those who are lovers of hamburger casserole and egg yolk noodles. I have found that by using beef gravy instead of tomato sauce, it gives the dish a heartier and more robust flavor. You can use any type of beef that you like for this recipe, but I prefer to use ground chuck because it has a higher fat content and thus, produces a more flavorful dish. I also like to add in some chopped onion and green pepper for additional flavor and nutrition. This casserole is hearty and filling, and can be served as a main course or as a side dish. It also reheats well, so leftovers are never a problem.

Here is what you will need:

1 pound ground chuck
1 small onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cups beef gravy
1 package egg yolk noodles

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large skillet, brown the ground chuck over medium-high heat until it is no longer pink.
Drain any excess fat and remove from heat.
Stir in the chopped onion and green pepper.
Pour in the beef gravy and bring to a simmer.
Meanwhile, cook the egg yolk noodles according to package instructions.
Once they are cooked, drain any excess water and add them to the casserole.
Stir everything together and pour into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until heated through.

Serving suggestions:

This casserole can be served as is, or with a dollop of sour cream on top. It goes great with a green salad or a side of steamed vegetables
