Recipe for combining frozen spaghetti sauce with fresh homemade sauce
Last Updated on
If you have some leftover homemade spaghetti sauce and want to add to it with a jar of sauce from the store, here is a recipe for doing just that. This Sauce Combination is great for a busy weeknight when you don’t have time to make a sauce from scratch. It’s also a good way to use up that last bit of homemade sauce so it doesn’t go to waste.
Homemade + Store-Bought Spaghetti Sauce Combination Recipe
Ingredients:
1 jar (24 oz) of store-bought marinara or spaghetti sauce
1-2 cups of your homemade sauce
Instructions:
In a large pot, combine the jar of store-bought sauce with 1-2 cups of your homemade sauce.
Stir the sauces together until combined.
Bring the sauce to a simmer and let cook for 10 minutes.
This sauce combination is great on its own, or you can use it as a starting point for a more complex homemade sauce. If you want to bulk it up, you can add some chopped veggies or ground meat to the sauce. This would be a great way to use up some veggies that are starting to go bad. You could also add some spices to the sauce if you want to change up the flavor.
This sauce combination can be used on any type of pasta, or you could even use it as a pizza sauce. It would be especially good on a meat lovers pizza. If you have any leftovers, they will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days, or you can freeze them for longer storage
