Recipe for bacon balls without cheese
Ingredients:
1 pound bacon, diced
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
1 1/2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium-high heat until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
3. Add onion and bell pepper to the bacon fat and cook until softened. Remove from heat and let cool.
4. In a large bowl, mix together bacon, onion and bell pepper, bread crumbs, BBQ sauce, and salt and pepper to taste.
5. Form mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a greased baking sheet.
6. Bake for 20 minutes, or until browned.
Where you can use it:
Bacon balls are a great appetizer for parties or game day. Serve with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce.
Tips:
For a crunchier bacon ball, try adding 1/4 cup of chopped up bacon bits to the mixture
