I remember when I was a kid I loved thermoses. They were lemon, strawberry and most of all the best chocolate. Back then, it’s been about 38yrs ago, there were also thermoses without preservatives and used natural dyes. I don’t know how much sugar was in them, but the quality of the “totalitarian” mlsieks and didn’t compare at all to the current products full of stabilizers and dyes. That’s why we big kids make our own termix at home, and steadfastly boycott the shelves of “artificial” ones in the store. How to do it?

1.

You can use a banana or plum, vanilla (whenever I write vanilla, I mean that pod of real and fragrant vanilla, not vanilla sugar). If you don’t need the raw quality, use pure full fat cottage cheese (Slovak) and 100% cocoa instead of raw cacao beans. You can add 2PL of maple syrup.

2.

Prepare your blender. If going the raw version route, the beans go in the blender first because they are the hardest. Blend them to a coarse powder and add cashews, maple syrup, vanilla and I add a pinch of salt. Add the cocoa powder and the banana and plum, or even the zucchini.

3.

I know many allergy sufferers, peeled zucchini is a great substitute for banana even in a smoothie. Cacao beans are lightly sour, in raw termix they create the illusion of cottage cheese, they taste different of course.

This “termix” can be eaten on its own or with oatmeal pancakes, served in pancakes or with fruit.
