Pretzel – heart shaped sandwich

A very decorative cold appetizer that you can serve to your pet whenever you want to tell him/her how much you love him/her.

Ingredients:

For pretzels: 500 g smooth flour 300 ml of semi-skimmed milk 2 tbsp oil or melted butter 1 tsp

td> granulated sugar 1 tsp salt 1 pk whole egg 1 pk egg yolk 1/2 pcs yeast cubes coarse salt cumin Other: baking paper To make one pretzel: 2 tablespoons of Hellmann’s Delicatessen 1 handful of arugula 6 pieces packs of Parma ham 6 pcs packs of mozzarella basil pesto

Procedure:

  • First, prepare the starter; pour about 50 ml of lukewarm milk into a small bowl, add the crumbled yeast, a pinch of salt and a spoonful of sugar, cover with a tea towel and let it stand in the heat for 15 minutes until the starter rises
  • .Pour the flour mixed with salt into a larger bowl, then pour in the risen sourdough, oil, egg yolk, remaining milk and work everything thoroughly to make a smooth dough
  • Dust the loaf lightly with plain flour and leave to rise for about 30 minutes covered with a clean cloth
  • On a floured surface, divide the dough into 10 to 12 parts, roll out one at a time into rolls that you twist into pretzel shapes and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper
  • Let rise covered for 15 to 30 minutes, then brush each pretzel with beaten egg, sprinkle with coarse salt and caraway seeds, let rest for a few minutes
  • Set aside for a few minutes./li>
  • Place in an oven preheated to 180 °C and bake for about 20 minutes, then let the pretzels cool completely
  • Cut the finished pretzels in half lengthwise, spread the inner part with Hellmann’s Delicatessen mayonnaise, decorate with rocket, ham and mozzarella
  • Finally drizzle with pesto and cover and serve.
