Potato Dumplings Stuffed with Meat

One of the variants for tasty potato dumplings filled with boiled or roasted meat.

Ingredients:

750 g of boiled potatoes 350 g of coarse flour 2 pcs of egg 1/4 packet baking powder For filling: 250 g of cooked or roasted meat (leftover fatty roast, smoked meat …

30 g of lard 1/2 pcs of large onion ./td> a bit of breadcrumbs For pouring: 100 g of lard 3 tablespoons grated breadcrumbs

Procedure:

1. Grate the cold peeled potatoes cooked the day before, mix with flour, powder, salt and combine the eggs
2. Work out a stiffer dough which you roll out, cut into squares, put a scoop of filling on each and join all the ends, as in the preparation of fruit dumplings
3. Boil the dumplings in salted water for about 10 minutes (it is advisable to cook one for a test)
4. Sprinkle the cooked, drained dumplings with a bun fried in some of the lard and pour over the melted lard.

Prepare the filling: Fry the meat cut into small cubes and chopped onion in lard, mix everything with a little breadcrumbs.

Recommendation:

Serve with steamed cabbage or steamed sauerkraut.

Note:

If you want the filling extra tender, you can grind the meat in a meat grinder.
