Pissaladiére

The French rectangular pizza called “Pissaladiére” is similar to the Italian pizza. It is a jewel of Provençal cuisine, made mainly of cooked onions, bread dough, tomatoes and olives.
Ingredients:
Procedure:
1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan, add the onion, cover the pan and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally
2. Add the grated garlic, chopped chives, cook uncovered for a further 15 minutes until the onions are cooked through, season with salt if necessary and leave to cool
3. Spread the bread dough on a greased baking tray, spread the cooked onions evenly over it, lay the tomato slices on top and top with the sardine fillets and olive halves
4. Bake for 5 minutes in a preheated oven at 200 °C, then reduce the temperature to 190 °C and bake for a further 30 minutes until the dough has risen and browned slightly underneath.
Recommendation:
This pizza should be served hot preferably with a salad of fresh herbs.
