Perkelt “Pusta”

Recipe from Hungary for braised beef strips braised with potatoes and other ingredients. The recipe is for 10 servings.

Ingredients:

1.6 kg of beef butt 2 kg of potatoes 400 g of onions 250 g of lard 1 handful of spices 3 pcs green peppers 3 pcs tomatoes 1 l bone broth pink pepper hot pepper garlic cumin salt

Procedure:

1. Dry the rinsed beef under cold running water, cut into larger pieces
2. Add the finely chopped onion, fry in hot fat, add the grated garlic, cumin and sprinkle with paprika, add a little broth and reduce the fat
3. When the meat begins to soften, add the sliced, de-peppered peppers, hot peppers, peeled potatoes and tomatoes, simmer for 15-20 minutes
5. Add a little stock and simmer briefly under a lid
