Pecan Puffs with Poppy Seeds

What would an ideal afternoon look like? Lying down on the stove and having a couple of peciválek, or potato sourdough loaves, which get their name from the fact that they rested in a bowl behind the stove during the rising process.

Ingredients:

1 kg of plain flour 500 g of potatoes 1 handful of semolina sugar 1 l milk 2 pcs oats 1 pcs drugs 1/2 pcs baking fat cubes 1 tbsp salt For coating: 1 cup of powdered sugar 1 cup of milk 2 glasses PORT WINE STUFF 2 packets ground poppy seeds For spreading: 1 cup of lard

Procedure:

Make a sourdough starter with yeast, sugar and lukewarm milk.

Into a bowl, add a little flour, sugar, salt and pour in the sourdough starter, some of the milk, grated potatoes and eggs. With a rolling pin, knead the dough and gradually add the remaining flour and milk.

Add the fat for baking and knead the dough thoroughly and leave it to rise in warmth for about 1 hour.

From the risen dough form small muffins with a diameter of about 3-4 cm and place them a little apart on a baking tray well greased with melted lard.

Smear each muffin around the perimeter with lard. Leave to rise for about 10 minutes and bake for 25-30 minutes at 150 °C until golden brown.

Prepare the fudge boiled in a little water and sugar, stirring it so that it does not burn. In a saucepan, boil a little milk with ground poppy seeds and after a while stir them into the puddings.

Finally, boil the baked loaves in a bowl with a cup of hot milk mixed with ground poppy seeds and puddings.

The handmade fruit spread contains only fresh apple juice and a pinch of cloves in addition to plums and port wine. By slow cooking them, a symphony of flavours has been achieved. If you have any left over during the process, you can use a few spoonfuls on pancakes, in linoleum, or with cheeses and meats.
