Oven Cakes

Don’t you know what a trdelnik is? It is a yeasted pastry rolled up into a trdlo, which is turned over an open fireplace made of beech wood. However, this sweet treat can also be prepared in a conventional oven! Here is the recipe.

Ingredients:

500 g of flour 80 g fat 42 g of yeast 250 ml semi-skimmed milk 5-6 tbsp powdered sugar 2 pcs eggs Other: pots or jars for canning sugar for coating, flour for rolling, egg for brushing

Procedure:

Pour a little lukewarm milk into a glass, add a pinch of sugar and crumbled yeast, stir, let the sourdough rise

.Pour the flour into the bowl, add the other ingredients including the risen sourdough, work out the dough and leave it in a warm place, under a clean cloth, for about 30 minutes to rise./li>

Roll out the dough on a floured work surface, cut it into strips, then wrap the strips around the dough (wooden mould for tartlets) or jam jars

Bake the cakes in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 20 minutes.
