Lust for a simple but super delicious cake recipe? This orange cake überzeugt especially by a foolproof preparation. A fruity dream of oranges, cookie base and milk! For the extra portion of vitamin C, which we need so urgently, especially in the older season.

For this you will need:

For the cookie base:

150 g butter cookies 100 g orange juice Grated orange Springform pan, diameter: 18 cm

For the orange curd:

80 ml orange juice (approx. 1 whole orange) 60 g butter 30 g sugar 1 egg yolk 1 egg 5 g cornstarch ice cube mold

For the milk mixture:

1 l milk 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch 130 g sugar 25 g agar-agar (agartine)

In addition:

5 orange slices cake pan, diameter: 18 cm

How it works:

1. Line the springform pan with baking paper. Crush the butter cookies with a mixer and then add orange juice and orange zest and mix everything together. Set the orange aside, you will need it later. Spread the cookie mixture on the bottom of the cake pan and press it with your fingers. Put the cake base first in the refrigerator.

2. For the orange curd, put butter, egg and egg yolk, starch, orange juice and sugar in a saucepan and heat everything (do not boil!). Once all the ingredients are combined and a smooth thick mixture is formed, pour it into an ice cube mold and freeze it for an hour.

3. Boil milk, sugar, agar-agar and starch in a saucepan and let everything boil for about 2 minutes. Rührere the whole thing währenddessen always.

4. Cut the remaining orange (from point 1) into slices and remove the peel. Line the springform pan with the slices, as shown in the following picture.

5. Using a ladle, pour as much milk mixture into the cake pan until half of the orange slices are covered. Leave everything in the refrigerator for about 5 to 10 minutes to set.

6. Once the milk mixture is set, you can put the frozen orange curd on top of it.

7. Pour the remaining milk mixture into the cake pan and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the cake can be put on the cookie base.
