Old Bohemian strudel

Závin, or strudel, according to our grandmothers’ recipe.

Ingredients:

500 g smooth flour 250 g butter 4 tbsp of milk 4 tbsp of vinegar 4 pcs large eggs To finish: 2-3 tbsp breadcrumbs 1-2 handfuls of raisins 1 handful of ground nuts 4-6 pcs of apples butter sugar

Post:

1. Mix flour with beaten eggs, butter vinegar and milk, work into a smooth dough, divide into 6 parts, roll each into a thin sheet
2. Brush the rolled out dough with melted butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs
3. Spread the washed, cored, peeled and finally grated apples, sprinkle them with sugar, nuts, raisins and a little breadcrumbs
4. Drizzle the filling with melted butter and roll the individual sheets of dough into the shape of a strudel and carefully place them on the baking sheet(s) lined with baking paper
5. Brush the individual legs with melted butter and bake in an oven heated to 200 °C until golden brown
6. After removing from the oven, brush the finished legs of the strudel with melted butter again, slice after cooling and serve sprinkled with icing sugar.
