Old Bohemian potato-apple pie

3 pcs egg 200 g granulated sugar 1 packet vanilla sugar´ 2 pcs apples 100 g boiled potatoes 100 ml whipping cream 200 g plain flour 1 packet baking powder 100 g poppy seeds 50 g lard

250 g caster sugar 3 tbsp hot milk 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp whole poppy seeds

This delicious cake made with ingredients close to us will really please everyone thanks to its extra softness.
1.
Cook the potato(s) in the skin, let cool and clean.

Beat the whole eggs with granulated and vanilla sugar until pale and frothy

Clean and grate the apples on a coarse grater. Finely grate the boiled potatoes.

Add the apples and potatoes to the beaten eggs, add the cream, flour with baking powder, ground poppy seeds and finally add the melted (not hot) butter.

Mix the dough, layer it in a greased cake tin and bake the cake in a preheated oven at 150°C for about 50 minutes. Let cool completely after baking.
6.
Frosting: Mix the sifted icing sugar with the hot milk, lemon juice and spread the icing on the cooled cake.
7.
Sprinkle the glaze with whole poppy seeds, let it set and serve the potato-apple cake.
