Old Bohemian Pork Leg

From our grandmothers’ recipe book. Pork leg baked in the oven, rubbed with honey, served with the juice from the fat.
Ingredients:

Procedure:
1. Thoroughly washed and drained meat, salt, rub in crushed garlic, sprinkle with spices
2. Heat the lard in a baking dish, sear the meat on all sides, pour hot water over it
3. Bake at a temperature of around 190 °C, basting occasionally and basting with the hot juices, turning the meat occasionally
4. Before the end of baking, add finely chopped onions to the fat and brush the meat with honey dissolved in a little water
5. Bake until the honey caramelises slightly
6. Remove the soft meat and cut into slices
7. Thicken the fat with flour dissolved in a little cold water, boil for a while.
Recommendation:
Serve the slices of ham topped with the gravy. Serve mashed potatoes as a side dish.
