Mushroom bun

Chleb with milk mixed with mushroom mixture, topped with egg mixture, baked until golden brown. Try this tried and true grandma recipe for an amazing mushroom bun!

Ingredients:

350 g mushrooms 340 g bread 125 g grated gruyere cheese 750 ml milk 2 tsp sunflower oil 2 tsp chopped fresh rosemary 1/4 tsp ground pepper 1/4 tsp salt 2 handfuls chopped parsley 3 pcs large eggs 2 pcs larger brown mushrooms 1 pc garlic cloves 1 pc of egg white oil to deglaze

Procedure:

  • Place the bread, cut into 2 cm cubes, in a bowl, pour 500 ml of milk over it and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
  • .In a frying pan, place the cleaned, quartered porcini mushrooms and the sliced mushroom caps in hot oil and fry for 5 minutes
  • Then stir in the finely chopped parsley, finely chopped rosemary, peeled, minced garlic clove, salt and pepper, fry for 1 minute more and remove from heat<./li>
  • In an oiled baking dish, spread about half of the bread and milk, top with the mushroom mixture from the pan, sprinkle with a third of the grated cheese, cover with the remaining bread and sprinkle with the remaining cheese
  • Finally, pour the remaining milk whisked with eggs and egg white, put in a preheated oven at 180 ° C and bake for about 45 minutes.
