Matjes pepperoni

Recipe for classic pepperoni made from matjes, which you used to be able to get in every pub of the fourth price group in the times of totalitarianism.

Ingredients:

300 g of matjes in oil 150 g sterilised red and yellow peppers 150 g sterilised peas 150 g of edamame 2 pcs larger sweet and sour cucumbers 2 pcs larger onions 1 pcs pepperoni 1 dl sweet and sour pickle of cucumbers 2-3 tbsp matjes oil pepper to taste salt

Procedure:

  • Remove the matjesas from the oil, set the oil aside, cut the fish into smaller, about 1-2 cm cubes, cut the onion into strips
  • Cut the peppers, cucumbers, eidam into cubes
  • Mix all the chopped ingredients in a bowl, add the sterilized peas, matjes oil, cucumber liqueur, season to taste with ground pepper and salt
  • Transfer to a jar, close and leave in the fridge for 2-3 days to set
  • Serve the pepperoni with bread or bread.
