Marinara sauce gluten-free recipe

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes

1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, sugar, basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and cook until the sauce is thickened, about 30 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary. Use immediately, or store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
