Linzer hearts
ingredients
375 g plain flour special 120 g powdered sugar 1 packet vanilla sugar 1 tsp grated lemon peel 250 g butter – room temperature 1 egg yolk 1 cup rosehip jam

Bake every Christmas.

Mix flour, sugar, vanilla sugar and grated lemon zest in a bowl.

Add the cubed butter and work into a fine meal with your fingertips.

Then add the egg yolk to the mixture and work into a smooth dough, which you wrap in cling film and refrigerate for at least two hours.

Later roll out the dough on a floured board to a thickness of 0,5 cm and cut out the hearts. Carefully cut a smaller heart into each of the other hearts.

Bake the pastry in a preheated oven at 180°C until pink (about 8 to 9 minutes).
6.
Glue the baked, cooled hearts with rosehip jam.
