1.
Cook rice with a pinch of salt in a ratio of 1 (rice): 2 (water).
2.
Cook the lentils also until tender with a pinch of salt.
3.
Cut the red pepper, garlic and onion finely.
4.
Place the rice, cooked lentils, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion and peppers in a bowl. Add the basil and oregano and season with salt and pepper to taste (don’t worry about the seasoning, I used about 1 tbsp salt and 1/2 tbsp black pepper…
5.
Work the mixture with your hands and work the dough properly. Shape into balls and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
6.
Here we go for the sauce: Fry the onion in the oil and add the chopped tomatoes. Sauté for 3 minutes and then add the chopped garlic.
7.
Add 100 ml of water.
8.
Add 1 Kl honey, basil and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
9.
Finish by blending everything with a stick blender and add salt to taste.
10.
Place the sauce on a plate and place the lentil balls on top. Enjoy!
