1 tablespoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste

For the filling, you’ll need:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 pounds ground beef
Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

To make the sauce: Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the crushed tomatoes, sugar, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.

To make the filling: Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat and season with salt and pepper.

Assemble the lasagna: Spoon a layer of sauce into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with a layer of noodles, followed by a layer of meat filling. Spread more sauce over the meat, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the top is browned and bubbly
