Kanaa do piaza

Do piaza means “two onions” in Hindi. The sweetness of the onion gives the dish a nice sweetness. The dish is a basic curry in India.

Ingredients for four

400g chicken breast fillets 2 large onions 1 dl of pureed tomatoes or 3 fresh tomatoes 2 cm of chopped ginger4 cloves of garlic 1-2 chillies 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp ground cumin 1 tbsp curry 1 tsp salt and pepper plenty of butter

Peel and chop the second onion. Chop the other very finely. Cut the chicken into small pieces.

Make a pan with butter and sauté the chopped onion for 10-15 minutes, until very sweet. Add all the spices, except the lemon juice, to the pot.

Once the onion masala has simmered, add the chicken and the chopped onion. Take the water to the surface and add the pureed tomato and lemon juice.

Simmer the chicken until cooked, adding butter whenever the sauce threatens to dry out. Serve the chicken do piaza with yoghurt.
