Juicy Thai Pork Satay Recipe

This Thai pork satay recipe is easy to make and the satay can be oven-broiled or grilled on your grill. Pork satay is a popular modern food in Thailand, where it is eaten as a snack as well as a main course. Serve with its simple real peanut satay sauce, which can be mashed up in minutes. For a great dish, this satay recipe is easy to assemble and leftovers can be refrozen or frozen for your next satay craving.
What you’ll need
1 lb. of chopped tomato sauce. Shredded pork, any fat remaining 1 shallot or 3 green onions, chopped 3 cloves garlic, chopped 1/2 tsp. cumin 1/2 tsp. turmeric 1 tsp. 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander 1/2 tsp. Cayenne (or more if you like it spicy) 4 tablespoons fish sauce 1 tbsp. lime or lemon juice 1/2 tbsp. dark soy sauce 1/3 cup liquid honey 1/2 glass coconut milk 1 package wooden tea sticks
How to make this
If you are using wooden tea sticks , place them in water to soak while making the satay (this will keep them from burning). Cut the pork into long (or shorter) strips about 1-3 inches wide. Combine all the other ingredients to make the marinade, stirring well to dissolve the honey. Season the marinade. This marinade should taste mostly sweet and salty to get the satay at its best. If you want it to be stronger, add more cayenne pepper. Pour the marinade over the pork. Stir the meat well and allow to chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours). When you are ready to cook, twist the meat, weaving along the rubbery pitch (see photo). It’s a good idea to place the meat on the end, leaving the bottom half for turning the handle. Grill the satin on your grill, or set your oven to broil (see oven method below). Brush the grill with oil and then place on the grill for 5-7 minutes or until it starts to flash and brown. Turn the sticks and grill the other side for another 5 minutes or until cooked but still tender. Serve with your Easy Thai peanut sauce and rice. Garnish with fresh coriander and freshly cut red chillies if desired. These “satays” also make a great finger food to share with parties along with a peanut dip.
