Italian pasta dish recipe with corn and potatoes in the tomato sauce

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 yellow onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 (15-ounce) can corn, drained and rinsed
1 large potato, diced
1/2 pound pasta
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Instructions
Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the red pepper flakes and cook for 1 minute.
Add the tomatoes and their juice, water, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 15 minutes.
Add the corn and potato and cook until the potato is tender, about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling water according to package directions. Drain and add it to the sauce.
Add the parsley and serve
