Italian Easter Bread

Homemade bread served at Easter in Italy.

Ingredients:

310 g of wholemeal flour 180 g grated Romano cheese 15 g softened butter 14 g of dry yeast 6 pcs of egg 240 ml warm milk 1 tsp salt

Procedure:

1. In a small bowl in warm milk, let the yeast rise, which will take about 10 minutes
2. In a large bowl, mix the flour with the cheese, risen sourdough starter, salt, butter and slightly beaten eggs
4. Divide the dough into the moulds and leave, covered with a tea towel, for 40-60 minutes until the dough has doubled in volume 5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 60 minutes until the loaves are nicely golden
6.
