How to make a perfect mojito recipe

Total: 5 min Guests: 1

The weekend is here and what better way to celebrate it than a refreshing mojito, as long as you are old enough to drink it and do it in moderation. If the heat makes you lazy to go out to your favorite bar, today we propose a simple recipe so you can enjoy this famous drink at home.

Ingredients

White rum, 50 ml Soda (soda water) Brown sugar, 2 teaspoons Limes, 2 Mint, 15-20 leaves Crushed ice

Ingredients

White rum, 50 ml Soda (soda water) Brown sugar, 2 teaspoons Limes, 2 Mint, 15-20 leaves Crushed ice

Step 1

In a tall glass -in which we are going to serve our mojito- we pour the mint, branches included and breaking it a little with our hands. Reserve a sprig with leaves on top to decorate later.

Add the two tablespoons of sugar over the mint.

Step 2

Before cutting the lime, press it lightly against the table and roll it to soften the inside and make it easier to extract the juice. We cut it in half and squeeze it by hand over the glass to release all the juice.

Step 3

With a pestle and mortar or, failing that, with a wooden spoon we crush the three ingredients to mix them well, but not too much so as not to destroy the leaves too much.

Step 4

Pour crushed ice to fill half the glass. Add the rum and mix well so that the mint leaves are mixed with the ice and are all over the glass.

Step 5

Finish filling the glass with ice to the rim and finish filling it all with soda. Mix well.

Step 6

Finally, decorate with a sprig of mint and a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.

Notes

If you do not have a soda at hand (the typical one sold in a bottle with a siphon), you can replace it with a lemon-lime soda or soda, but in that case, as they are sweetened soft drinks, we would not add sugar to the combination.
