Homemade chips

5 large potatoes a little oil for frying to taste salt

1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly, dry them and cut them into as thin slices as possible. Spread the slices out on kitchen towels that you know will not tear, this will rid them of excess water, which would slow down the frying and make it difficult to crisp. 2. Heat the oil in a saucepan (about 5 cm in height). When the oil is hot, add the potato slices and fry until golden brown. Remove the fried chips with a slotted ladle and let the fat drain for a while on kitchen towels, place them in a bowl, add salt, cover and shake the bowl up and down a few times to distribute the salt evenly on the chips. Then uncover and serve.
